Bespoke

As each piece of fused glass is handmade and one of a kind, it makes creating bespoke pieces in colours to match your own decor much simpler.  Costs will depend on the piece, the size and the consultation time. It could be as simple as 'could I have that in X collection in the same colour as the one in Y collection', or the creation of an artwork for a certain space of installation on a larger scale.  Contact me on the form at the bottom of the site or on hilary.woof@gmail.com to discuss your ideas.

Here are a couple of examples:

Commission to enliven home workspace

These 'Splats' were created  for business coach Nick Robinson who does some of his work on Skype.  He wanted something for an alcove in his office to make the backdrop to his client conversations more interesting and also stimulate discussion and debate about the importance of creativity and playfulness at work.

After much soul searching, I decide to take him up on the pIayfulness theme and created this installation of glass paint 'splats' to fit the space. (They have been fused one more time than you see here so that they bobbles at the end blend in better).  Luckily, he loved it, though he thought splats didn't really do the job name-wise!

"I'm going to call it “Take that!” (including the speech marks); because it makes me feel like I’m throwing sticky globs of coloured joy at any grey, boring, spiritless crap that comes my way!"  Nick Robinson

Brightening up a downstairs bathroom

My Mother-in-law had a new small loo under the stairs and wanted a mirror which was bright, a certain size (40cm x 40cm) and used her favourite colours of orange and red.

For inspiration I had bought a collection of the orange colours in the System 96 glass range in small 10 x 10 squares to see which ones I might use.  I decided that it would be interesting to use them all!

I thought it would be fun to incorporated other patterns on the plain colours, so made little flowers and trees in different colours.  It was looking quite busy, so incorporated the little amber glass shards too, which surprisingly livened up the design but also stopped it being too busy.  (Cutting these was also the inspiration for a new idea, which became the Shattered Collection.  It's always fun to see where inspiration leads).

She is totally delighted with it, and actually I think secretly doesn't believe I really made it!
